A few Robinhood investors were reportedly hacked, after their personal email was compromised outside of the app which lead to their Robinhood accounts being exposed. The bulk of the frustration comes from Robinhood's lack of a customer service line. According to bloomberg.com, when one user reached out for help, Robinhood wrote that they would investigate and get back in a few weeks. However, "the issue didn't stem from Robinhood's system", a spokesman for the company said in an email.
This will be a big blow to the face of Robinhood. Hailed as one of the best apps for young investors, it might scare potential users away from the app now that people can see how weak Robinhood's support system is. I can only offer my condolences to the users who lost their savings from this incident. Of course,
it is a sigh of relief that Robinhood's security is safe, but in a way it makes this incident worse. Something as small as customer service has ended up costing a few users a ton of lost money.
