Janko "YNk" Paunović has announced his decision to step down as coach of FaZe. "I feel that the best way to move forward is for the team and myself to part ways and, with NiKo going to G2, give the players and the organization the opportunity to get a new coach and IGL who can work on taking the team forward", he explained in his Twitlonger.
"For a while now the team has been struggling with some recurring issues in and out of the game which I've done my best to try and amend but unfortunately without much success", YNk wrote in his statement, adding that he still has love for the game and the coaching profession, but plans to "take a break from coaching until the end of the year".
Damn, even YNK is leaving. I did not expect this to happen, and am curious what FaZe will do. The step-down was out of the blue, because there are still superstars on the roster that needs guidance. Did YNK step down only because NiKo left? I don't know. I believe YNK can still guide FaZe Clan now that Coldzera has taken over the In Game Leader role, since Coldzera is more tactical than NiKo. I guess this will be a good opportunity for FaZe to restructure and add an actual igl this time while also approach a new coach. However, if YNK signs with G2 I am actually going to shake my head. That would just prove he just follows NiKo around.
