On September 18, 2020, G2, one of the biggest names in E-sports, expressed interest in signing FaZe superstar Nikola "NiKo" Kovac, as confirmed by hltv.org. This comes at a time where FaZe are struggling to win any matches, after signing Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjaerbye. If the move is to be finalized, it would possible be the biggest transfer fee in Counter Strike history. NiKo has been on FaZe's roster since early 2017, being signed from Mousesports with a $500,000 transfer fee.
Personally, I don't believe this move will be completed. Over the past two years, NiKo has been in charge of FaZe's CS:GO roster, adding his friends in the likes of coach Janko "ynk" Paunovic, and fellow superstar Marcelo "coldzera" David. Furthermore, the new addition Kyaerbye, was also a decision that NiKo had control on. If NiKo was to turn his back on his current team and disregard all the players he had brought in over the past two years, it will severely taint his legacy and current status.
