Hunter Biden's Emails leaked from Laptop

On Sunday, the New York Post got word that Hunter Biden's laptop was retrieved by a computer repairman in Virginia after Hunter Biden allegedly left it in the shop for over a month. According to The Post, the shop owner, who has been identified as Mac Isaac, called the FBI, and also called a Giuliani associate. Isaac said he believed the laptop was among equipment left by Hunter Biden, because a sticker on the laptop bore the name of the Beau Biden Foundation, a charity named after his late brother. However, in an interview published by The Daily Beast, Isaac, did not answer key questions. “Throughout the interview, Mac Isaac switched back and forth from saying he reached out to law enforcement after viewing the files in the laptop to saying that it was actually the FBI that contacted him,” the Beast wrote. Even if the leaks are fake, Donald Trump's campaign has fully seized on the story spread in part by Rudy Giuliani, known for his role in the Ukraine extortion scandal that got a president impeached, and is using it to decry Joe Biden.

If the email contents are proven true, it would tie the Bidens to numerous corrupt business dealings with Ukraine and China. One of the main talking points is that the emails show Hunter Biden and a senior Burisma executive setting up a meeting with Joe Biden when he was vice president in 2015. When questioned, Hunter Biden’s lawyer, George Mesires, said in a statement to the Associated Press that “we have no idea where this came from, and certainly cannot credit anything that Rudy Giuliani provided to the NY Post...what I do know for certain is that this purported meeting never happened.”

Nowadays, I take everything with a grain of salt, because everything is political. This "leak" came just days before the election, almost as if it was meant to cripple the Biden Campaign. However, it is suspicious that only a small number of news sources are covering this topic. Moreover, the silencing of Kayleigh Mcenany on Twitter, and the blocking of any posts related to the leak heightens general public curiosity on the issue. This severely dampens the credibility of Joe Biden, and it paints him in a even worse light since he neither denied it nor got asked a single question about it in his townhall meeting. Personally, I'm skeptical about the entire thing. If Hunter Biden has really done some of the things his emails are showing, why would a man like that be so careless to leave a valuable asset of evidence at a repair shop? The FBI is currently investigating if the leaked information is linked to a foreign intelligence operation. It is also weird that the shop owner, who allegedly was the one who acquired the laptop, did not want to answer further questions. I am not denying the information is fake, but my thoughts are similar to that of Thomas Rid, a political scientist and disinformation expert at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies, who says "It’s a common feature in these operations that you combine generic content, accurate content, with forged content.”
