Early this week, Congress cleared the 900 billion dollars COVID-19 relief package as part of the 2.3 trillion spending bill, after 6 months of stalled negotiations on the proposed relief package. In it, the subject of concern was the measly $600 stimulus scheduled to be paid out to families who make less than $75,000 as early as next Monday.
Trump took to Twitter to condemn the bill, shunning the House for giving over 4 billion dollars in foreign aid in the package. He demanded the package gets scrapped and revised to provide more aid to households. Trump notably stated that he wants to see at least $2000, and not $600.

It's outrageous how the government once again shows that it does not have the best interest of its citizens in mind. Giving over 4 billion dollars in foreign aid, while only providing families with $600 is a slap to the face, and citizens are angry for good reason. Nancy Pelosi notably said that Trump's $1200 bonuses were "crumbs", yet she stated the $600 payment was "significant". Trump is indeed correct to threaten repelling of the Bill, as $600 is outrageous. It took the House 8 months to agree whether or not to pay the American people a "significant" amount in $600, while never missing their own paycheck every month. Also in the package are absurd deals such as the "three-martini lunch" tax deduction and a new law that'll punish piracy services that illegally stream large amounts of copyrighted content. The piracy law says violators could be prosecuted and face up to 10 years in prison for multiple offenses. They could also be fined.
