Liquid have announced that they have completed the signing of Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo from MIBR. The Brazilian veteran will fill the spot left vacant by Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, who stepped down from the team in December.
In Liquid, FalleN will reunite with Stewie2K, who was his teammate in SK and MIBR for eight months between April and December 2018. FalleN is expected to become the team's primary AWPer, while Stewie2K remains the In-Game Leader. FalleN stated that while he's looking forward to helping the team with the tactical knowledge he has gathered since he began his career, he doesn't know if he will take over the captaincy from Stewie2K.
FalleN will make his first appearance for Liquid later this month in the BLAST Premier Global Finals, scheduled for January 19-24. The North American team are also slated to compete in the BLAST Premier Spring Groups, the IEM Katowice Play-In Stage and ESL Pro League Season 13.

It's great that Team Liquid will officially have a dedicated awper in Fallen, but I believe that Stewie2K should hang up his In-Game Leader role to Fallen too. Fallen has always been the IGL for his previous teams, and it would make the most sense for Stewie2K to relinquish the title and focus more on his fragging. This will be a test for Gabriel, as some might argue that he is nearing his end, as his peak is already behind him. Nevertheless, I look forward to seeing this new Liquid, and hope the team is newly revitalized.
