After the grand final loss against Astralis in IEM Global Challenge, Liquid player Twistzz announced that it was his last game playing under the Team Liquid banner. He explained that him and the organization came to a mutual agreement for the player to part ways with Liquid. Twistzz has expressed interest as an European player, and with teams such as FaZe and Mousesports with vacant spots, it might be sooner than later that the 9th top player of 2019 in the world finds a new home.
I do hope that Twistzz stays in CS and is not lured into Valorant like most ex-NA players have. Even though he was the second worst rated player in Liquid with a 1.02 average, he can definitely bounce back. Seeing as Liquid was stuck in NA for the better part of 2020, and having to play the same teams over and over, I can cut Twistzz a break, and I believe he can still show more as time progresses. He is only 21, and under the guidance of EU stars, Twistzz can continue to be a force to recon with.
According to sources close to the organization, Fallen has been practicing with Liquid as early as this October. I don't see how bringing in Fallen is an improvement. While Fallen has a ton of experience and is a distinguished leader having already played Stewie2k in the past, Fallen Fallen has not won a single respectable tournament during his last stint with MiBR. Most notably, the team choked a 12-3 lead against Mad Lions in the finals of the first iteration of Flashpoint. Although Fallen has continued to put up decent statistics, averaging over a 1.00, people are questioning his ability to lead, and possibly an early retirement. However, this is a new challenge, and role-wise, Fallen fits right into Liquid as the team are looking for both an IGL and an Awper, which Fallen is. Obviously, we don't know why exactly Twistzz is stepping down, but for me, it would've made more sense for someone like Stewie2k or Naf-fly to go, seeing how both have been underwhelming throughout the year. However, I will give Fallen the benefit of the doubt and will access the situation after I see this new Liquid.
