The official "Jeopardy!" Twitter account confirmed the news, and a "Jeopardy!" spokesperson tells TMZ, "Jeopardy is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends."
Alex Trebek had been battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer since announcing the news back in March 2019. He immediately started chemo after the diagnosis but made no plans to retire. He continued to host the game show for another full year, before his cancer took a turn for the worse.

Personally, I am not familiar with Alex Trebek, but I have heard of him, especially his decision to continue his career after he was diagnosed with cancer. However, for fans of Jeopardy, this is definitely a sorrowful day.
