The shutdown was prompted by New York City’s 3 percent positivity rate for COVID-19 over a seven-day rolling average. The City’s entire public school system will shut on beginning Thursday.
My College's spring term was going to be completely online anyways, so this doesn't affect me. Truth be told, it actually sits better with me. Winter is coming(as Jon Snow would say), and it saves me the hassle of waking up cold and wearing multiple layers of clothing. Hopefully, this move will be of use in slowing down the second surge of virus cases in the Big Apple.
